St Thomas’s Easter collection
Donations to the Eastertide collection will be divided between two local food projects: St John Brownswood Park’s Soup Kitchen & Food Bank and the Food Hub at Elizabeth House.
St John’s Soup Kitchen and Food Bank is open for takeaway only and the food bank is available at the same times: Tuesdays: 6.30pm – 8.30pm for hot soup and a pudding. Sundays: 12noon – 2pm for a hot meal and a pudding. No referral is needed. Elizabeth House Community Centre Food Hub Local residents experiencing food poverty can receive a weekly food bag during the lockdown and beyond. Elizabeth House is also supporting local residents to start local food co-ops run for and by them, with the aim to reduce food bills and food waste through bulk buying and accessing food surplus.
Food boxes with essential items are distributed every Tuesday. The Community Team also provides regular telephone support and befriending services.
